A vibrant home for 14 residents opened in 2013, this Newton-based program provides residents daily assistance through MassHealth staffing, shared meals, and a community-driven atmosphere that encourages independence while ensuring essential needs are met. Onsite live In staff are available for overnight emergencies. Sponsored by housing developer and community partner, New England Communities, Inc. (NECI) and Beth Israel Senior Citizens Housing, Inc.
This 12-person residence in Malden, opened in 2013, provides a stable, supportive living environment rooted in community and care. Designed as a Project-Based Model, it features live-in overnight support, daily assistance through MassHealth-funded staffing, and shared dinners that foster connection. Residents benefit from an engaging, inclusive community that promotes long-term stability and personal development. This home was made possible through the efforts of housing
developer Marc Slotnick, New England Communities, Inc. (NECI), Beth Israel Senior Citizens Housing, Inc. and Malden Housing Authority, who worked diligently to secure a project-based building—following the lead of the Yellow House model and demonstrating a strong commitment to sustainable, inclusive housing.
The Wilson Street Culdesac, The Yellow House
The Yellow House, a seven-person project-based setting, and the Wilson Street Cul-de-sac, made up of three homes housing 27 residents in total, opened in 2010 and 2013. These affordable, supportive living communities offer not just housing, but a shared way of life—designed to foster intentional community and intentional family.
With live-in overnight staff, daily support funded through MassHealth, and shared meals that build connection, residents experience long-term stability, deep
belonging and personal growth. These homes were made possible by the vision and commitment of long-time developer and advocate, The Roche Family
Real Estate Company, LLC., and the Norwood Housing Authority.
